A Few Interesting New Local Web Sites

I'm thrilled to see more local people going online & starting Web sites, because our little part of the Russian River is home to lots of intelligent, thoughtful, creative people with interesting things to say.

  • Microbulletin Board: Larry Lane & a few of his friends have created a useful site with a directory of links to local people & organizations, complete audio recordings of RRROC meetings, PDF files of RRROC newsletters, Sweet Water Springs' Impact of Low Flow study, information about Eco-Ring (which promotes sustainable eco-tourism & environmental education), an interview with Catherine Young who serves on RRROC, lists of upcoming meetings & events, & more.
  • Stories from the Heart: Pastor Pamela Tinnan of the Guerneville Community Church & author of the book, Bit Players in the Big Play, has launched a new blog. Here, she writes with the same warmth, compassion, humor, deep spirituality, & ability to relate history & biblical times to the present day which members of the GCC & Sunday KGGV listeners get to enjoy every week through her sermons.
  • Campaign Web Sites for the Upcoming Election on December 11th, 2007: We have lots of caring & well-qualified candidates running for offices in the upcoming election. Four of them have launched interesting & informative Web sites. Dan Fein is running for re-election to RRROC. Tom Lynch, Jim Maresca & Rue Furch are running for Mike Reilly's post as County Supervisor. Of course, they're promoting themselves, but their sitest also provide information about their qualifications & views on the issues & challenges we currently face as a community.
Happy Web surfing.
